My husband got me on this place, as I’ve worked at 3 restaurants (2 bbq) and we love it! But Michael served me, I could tell he was having a bad day, so me being me, tried to cheer him up, and let him know I understood. He was “tired”. It was like I made him even angrier. I HATE dissing anyone, it isn’t the restaurant, but Michael, get it together honey! I’ll pray for you and hope you have a better day tomorrow and better attitude daily. Or if you’re going through something bad, even though I said,” atleast you didn’t lose 3 family members since April, house burned, lost our 2 dogs... but 5 stars for Tate’s!!! Hoping he has a better day tomorrow. You’ve got this, Michael!
Love Tates. Bbq sandwich best we had. Perfect combo of bun, pork, pickles, slaw, and sauce. Small sandwich for 5.19 is great value loved their beans and potato salad was normal
BEST baked beans I've ever had! We ordered a large and small BBQ sandwich with sides of beans. The small sandwich is full size and stuffed with pulled pork with the perfect amount of sauce. ALWAYS trust 'side of the road' BBQ. As soon as she opened the window we could smell how good it was going to be. We should've bought a sauce to go.
We decided to try Tate's BBQ today 6/22. So glad that we did, the best bbq that will literally melt in your mouth. Such great flavor. We got the #1 family pack it came with meat chips buns side item (we got potato salad)and sauce. Also tried the slaw and beans. It was all fresh and so good. Also tried the fried peach pies and wow takes you back to your grannies kitchen.
This is truly great and amazing smoked meat. Very prompt service for your order. You can drive or park and walk to another sheltered window. There’s some sobered seating,

My favorite place to go when I'm visiting Scottsboro
It's a one man show so if it's busy you will have to wait but he takes orders first come first serve. The large bar-b-qu sandwiches for 6.25 are more than enough to fill you up and are delicious. Onion rings are also excellent. This is my go to so can't report on much else. Location is a small building with a drive up window and walk up window. Two small picnic tables out front. Locals know about this place and they can run out of que at times, it's that good.
